Experience
Joe Overbay has over 35 years experience in mining engineering, operations management and engineering management. His expertise is primarily in underground room and pillar operations, including materials handling aspects of mining operations, equipment selection and application, analysis of underground mining systems and operations, mine ventilation, roof control, mine property valuation, production capabilities, mine planning, mine design coal contracting, and property management.
Mr. Overbay's prior experience includes mining-related property management, mine industrial engineering and mine construction management--including the design and construction of new installations and upgrade and/or expansion of mining facilities including materials handling systems, mine and plant construction, drainage systems, mine site preparation/excavation, road construction, ventilation shaft construction, refuse disposal facilities and other major capital projects. Having spent more than four years with a major international mining equipment manufacturer, Mr. Overbay is accustomed to providing technical and problem solving assistance to customers with conveyor systems needs, and field engineering and troubleshooting services to customers and field sales personnel.
Mr. Overbay has performed mine feasibility analysis and due diligence studies; mine closure reclamation liability studies, mining related environmental studies, litigation and expert witness work; mine property plant and equipment valuation; underground mine ventilation seal certification; power plant fuel and limestone sourcing and independent engineering oversight on behalf of financial institutions.
